Hi There My Son Is 8 And A Half Months

Hi there my son is 8 and a half months old. For the past few days he has been constipated and straining to go to for a poo. I've now noticed a small red lump on his bottom and every time I go to clean his bottom he cries. Any ideas on what this is please and what I can do to help thank you
