Hi Would Like To Ask Advice On Taking Duphaston And

Hi would like to ask advice on taking Duphaston and starting oral contraceptive at the same time (Qlaira). I am 47 and have been having abnormal periods for the last 6 months. Bleeding is extreme and sometimes lasts for 3 weeks, with no other symptoms. Ive had a sonar and uterus is inverted and lining is very thick. Gynae has recommended a hysterectomy but that feels like an extreme solution to me. So I consulted with another GP and he prescribed Duphaston 10mg one tablet twice a day and also Qlaira. He said I must take Duphaston for 10 days then start the contraceptive, but pharmacist said I should take both immediately. Is it safe to start both at once? I was not on contraception for the last 10 years.
