Hi, Yes, I Live In Az. And I Fractured 2

Hi, yes, I live in az. and I fractured 2 of my toes 3 weeks ago....at first I was told by an urgent care facility that nothing was broken or fractured, so I waited about a week 1/2 & got a 2nd opinion thru a podiatrist who xrayed it (my 2nd xray) and looked deeper in and showed me the 2 fractures. I was then told to wear a boot for 3 more weeks....but they didn't tell me rather or not I had to sleep with the boot. Iv'e read on line where when people fracture or break a bone in the toes or foot, they normally would get a plaster (not sure what that is) or a cast. I'm woundering if I should get a cast or what should I do? My boot is about the size of a sneaker, that's it and open toe.
