Hi.about 14 Days Ago My Had A Right Hemicolectomy Surgery

Hi.about 14 days ago my had a right hemicolectomy surgery due to having tumor in cecal area after surgery he experienced gastro intubation and drain intubation but now (14 days ) after surgery we are noticing bloody mucus when he cough..
Is this common due to gastro intubation? Or something else.
He is non-smoker,he don't drink alcoholic drinks etc.
