Hi...i Am 40yrs Old Woman Suffering From Slip Disc For

Hi...i am 40yrs old woman suffering from slip disc for past 3 yrs..i had twisted my leg in a pothole but did not fall and from the right side of my spine to the end on my right foot i had very bad pain..i was not able to walk ...after 2-3days with the advice of a doctor got an mri done...with a slipped disc..was adviced surgery if not complete bed rest...and i also was taking chiropractic treatment gradually after 1 month or so my pain subsided was back to normal routine...then again after 3 years again the pain started but this time it was on the left side again the same process rest and chiropract etc...i was normal after a months time again it has reoccured on left leg ...now i am again on bed rest...so my question is why is this pain reoccuring so frequently...isnt there any permanent solution to this problem ...i am worried as i grow older...how will it affect my spine...and is the chiropractic treatment good in the long run?? Pls help me
