How Can I Stop My Period Half Way Through Its

How can I stop my period half way through its cycle? I am still taking my single based birth control but it hasn't stopped it. Is there anything I can do? I'm going to the doctors tomorrow, and want to know what to ask for ? I have took inburprofen before and it has stopped it once talking the max amount. Would you suggest taking that again?
