How Can A Nipple Skin Tag Be Treated?

I am a 21 yr. old female. that has what i believe to be a skin tag on my left nipple. it has been there since about age 14 and was never too concerned about it untill my aunt (by marriage) developed breast cancer. Is this something i should worry about? do i need to get it removed? I have also noticed that within the past few years my nipple line does not match up, the left is about an inch to an inch and a half lower than the right. does that mean anything?
