How Can A Swollen Chin Cyst With Tenderness, Ingrown Hair Be Treated?

good morning: my boyfriend woke up this morning with what initially appeared to be swollen glands. it wasn't until I looked directly at him that I realized that what he was showing me was under his chin. He said it's tender to touch, and it's approximately half an inch. It feels as though you could squeeze it, but only on the inside. There is no open lession (sp?)/or pore point- but he does have several ingrown hairs that he picked and manipulated which are currently swollen and red. Could this be some type of epidermal inclusion cyst?
