How Can An Arm Patch With Sensitivity, Pain And Inflammation Be Treated?

I have a large red patch under my arm and it has mild pain and sensitivity. It is only under one arm. I do not have diabeties, but am hypothyroid. Is this something I can treat on my own? I am trying oil or oregano topically. It is slightly inflamed. How should I care for it, and treat it?
