How Can Be Nerve Palsy Prevented?

10 mnths ago I had eighth nerve palsy - double vision lasted about 8 weeks then cleared. Can it reoccur and can it be prevented? Headaches are starting again.
Age 70, 148 lbs, treating for BP and High cholesterol for last 30 years, successfully controlled.
