How Can Chronic Cough Be Treated?

My 7yr. old is coughing every 30 seconds or less. I gave him an albuterol breathing treatment and Robitussin almost 2 hours ago and he s not showing signs of improvement. He doesn t have a fever or other symptoms yet. When do I know when I should take him in?

The symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest you to continue the medications.If he will have fever or aggravation of the symptoms you can send him to the pediatrician for further examinations. Some other advice are:

-Give fluids
-Use a humidifier at home to help with the relief of cough.
