How Can Cold, Cough With Phlegm, Back And Spinal Pain Be Treated?

I am in my fourth day of a cold. I woke up at 4 am. and began coughing up phlegm. Following that, I ve had pain in my middle back on both sides of my spine. I m unable to turn either direction without sharp pain. Could this have been caused by the coughing or might it just be tied to the virus?
