How Can Contact Dermatitis With Scaly Skin And Eczema Be Treated?

Hi Doctor,

I had very light burn marks on my leg below the knee area which were almost 7 years old. To get rid of them completely, I consulted a dermatologist who asked me to apply lomela cream in the night. After using it for 1 night I got my leg waxed and then used some lactocalamine lotion in the day time, and then again used lomela in the night. The next morning I had red bumps on the area where I applied cream. The doctor said it is contact drmatitis and asked me to apply tenovate cream and 2-3 pills. The bumps have subsided but the skin has become very scaly. It's been almost 11 days now, and since I am little apprehensive of taking pills, I have discontinued the pills and tenovate, and have instead starting using coconut oil. Do you think the problem is eczema only since I have never had any such skin issues earlier, and I'm also not allergic to anything( except for lomela cream I think now ) . Also there is no history pf eczema in my family. Please advice me, as I'm very concerned about my leg. And I was only trying to rectify a problem and it got worse. It's very depressing. Also the area has got darkened purplish red and itches a little. My age is 24, height is 5'6'' and weight is 53kgs. I have never had any major health or skin problems, and also have a pretty decent immune system.
