How Can Excessive Ear Wax Be Treated?

My ear tend to produce a lot of wax the last month. I went to the doctor and cleaned it up as he gave me some ear drops as well but it still produces a lot of wax which leads somedays that my ears are closed. When I clean them up a lot of wax comes out. What should I do?? (by the way my ear never had that before)
