How Can External Acoustic Meatus Bleeding With Itching Be Treated?

I have a slight bleeding in my external acoustic meatus of my left ear. What is causing it? I cleaned my ears out last night after I took a shower and my left ear was a bit tender and the q-tip came out with just a little bit of blood on it and this morning I woke up and apparently my ear itched in the middle of the night and I had bloody wax under my finger nails.
