How Can Facial Hair Be Dealt With?

Hello, I had a baby 8 years ago and when i was pregnant i grew a lot of thick black facial hair... My doctor told once the baby was born it would go away but now here I am 8 years later and the hair is the same if not worse... In this case what causes this and what cold i do to get rid of the hair?
