How Can Groin Inflammation With Odor Be Treated?

My mom has just moved in with me and while helping go to the bathroom i notice her groin area is inflamed and it smells. It is wet and sticky looking. I gave her a soapy wash rag and we cleaned the area. It doesn't hurt. She hasn't bathed in quit awhile.
