How Can Heavy Bleeding With Cramping Be Treated?

Hi - I am currently taking Yasmin and just had an extremely heavy period with lots of clots. The period finally ended (after about 8 days) a week ago and I resumed my BC pills as usual - however, I started bleeding again last night (about 10 days into my 21-day pill pack). I haven't missed any pills. I am a bit crampy and seem to be back on my period. My doctor has given me a new prescription (for Alesse) but I can't start it until I finish off this month on the Yasmin. Help!
