How Can Stabbing Throat Pain With Swelling Causing Laryngitis Be Treated?

every so often, out of the blue ill get this feeling as if someone stabbed me in the back of the troat with a sewing pin and then that whole area, probably about an inch around, will swell up and i cant talk and its almost unbearable for a few seconds. it makes my eyes water and everything. my throat only stays swollen for a few seconds but it goes away faster if i drink something. this only happens a few times a year usually but it happined twice tonight.
