How Cans Sore Throat Be Treated?

I am a singer and had 4 shows this weekend, my throats been pretty sore and the last two days ive had a hard little bump on my upper palete. Its minimal when i first get up in morning but then gets back to pea size. I do occasionally smoke, but not excessive. Ive also been using a lot of cough drops.
