How Do Calcium Channel Blockers Lower The Blood Pressure?

Hi, I have been researching calcium and I can't understand how can calcium channel blockers lower your blood pressure and you heart rate but a rapid infusion of calcium in intravenous form can cause vasodilation and bradycardia. These seem to contradict one another and I would like if someone could explain how this is possible.
