How Does The Ovulate Look Like?

I feel pretty wierd asking you.. but being a doctor I hope you can help me. I was having sex the other day and (I my aunt said that woman ovulate and it is like a mucus like substance) please inform me if it is not, but well my partner used a condom and he pulled out before he ejaculated but when I felt it there was a thick mucus and I do not know whether or not it is my ovulation or if i have to worry about the possibility of it being his sperm and to worry of whether or not if I am pregnant.
