How Effective Is Azelastine For Nasal Congestion And Hearing Loss?

I am a senior with moderately severe deviated septum on the right side. My symptoms include nasal congestion, occasional tinnitus and ear fullness greater on the right. My ENT diagnosed me with eustachian tube dysfunction. My treatment has been saline spray and Salene nasal gel. Trying to pop my ears by breathing with nose and mouth closed does not help. I have tried a steroid nasal spray and had to stop due to nose bleeds. I have had a hearing test that shows only relatively mild hearing loss at upper and lower end. I recently was prescribed Azelastine (Astelin). My ENT says it does better to reduce congestion than other anti-histamines. I have not tried it yet. Will this dry me out and possibly cause more nose bleeds? I do not want to undergo corrective septum surgery unless that is the only way to relieve congestion and equalize middle ear air pressure. Any suggestions? Thank you
