Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, I m 48 yrs old my left eye was injured due to hit of shuttle cock while standing neary by where kids were playing. a gaint retinal tear had occured as per doctors and the same was treated with a surgery victromecy after 3 days laser treatment was given for betterment n safety of retina. first laser 740 shots and after a week 2nd laser 340 shots. doc says the retina is nicely deattached but still i dont hav proper clear vision, after doing a OCT scan they say an macula hole (FTMH)is been develop now which was not thr before and due to which the vision is not clear. this is after 2 weeks of operation . they had ask me to do again a surgery for macula hole but that also wont give you any guarantee for vision. its almost 6 weeks after the surgery but the vision is not clear yet. i was asked to take second opinion with experts and one expert says that my eye is technicaly perfect but as your vision is still not improving hence at this stage the macula hole surgery is of no use.one expert is saying the macula hole will get cured on its own and the vision will be ok only after 2 to 3 months and as the silicon oil which was used to keep the retina intact is present the vision is not proper. does this silicon oil gets dissolved on its own or it has to be removed with a surgery. I am confused now . Can a macula hole be delevop after 2 weeks of surgery . Is it possible this may have happen due to laser treatment given after surgery . could you pls guide.
