How Long Can A Person Sustain With Subcutaneous Drug Infusion?

My dad is in palliative care. He hasn t had water for 6days and no food for a couple of weeks. He has had a morphine / saline syringe driver for the last 6 days.He s only 61 with a strong heart. He looks awefull and we all just want him to pass. How long can somebody go on with just a syringe driver?
