How Long Does Ear Drainage Persist After Ruptured Eardrum?

My 22 month old boy was diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum by our doctor. It has been 7 days sonce our last appointment and his ear has not stopped leaking. He was on an oral antibiotic for 5 days. Can you tell me how much longer the leaking will last. Thank you
