How Long Does It Take To Regain The Ability To Swallow Post Intubation?

How long does it take to regain the ability to swallow after intubation? My mother was on a ventilator twice for five days each. Now she is failing her swallowing tests. She is currently on a feeding tube. Just wondering what the average time it takes for the swallowing function to return. Thank you
