How Long Does Mononucleosis Stay In The Body?

I had mono about 3 weeks ago and I'm just now getting over the symptoms. And I understand that it is in your system for the rest of your life. But I was curious how much longer I should wait to kiss someone? And what are the odds of someone getting a year after I've had mono?
