How Long Does The Stitch Marks Take To Dissolve?

How soon after a mole removal surgery can i get a revision for "dog ears"? Also i had my stitches removed 1 week ago and the stitch marks are highly visible. I had the stitches in for 1 week. Were the stitches in too long? The reason for the concern is because this is on my front cheek. How long should I expect to see the stitch marks? Is there anything I can put on them? I have been using mederma for the last couple of days.
