How Long Does Vaginal Infection Last And Is It Chronic?

hello.I have itching & burning sensation in my vagina from past 3 days.I consulted doctor & she told me it's infection & suggested me to insert Cansoft-CL tablet in to my vagina for 3 day
& also suggested anti biotics to take. My question is when will the itching & burining senstation reduce.Will this process repeat i mean the infection?
