How Long Will Phenoxymethylpenicillin Take To Clear The Throat Infection?

Ive just finished a week course of phenoxymethylpenicillin (250mg two tablets four times a day) for a possible infection in throat, neck swollen, lump in throat, no pain, gagging. Sypmtoms have improved but still there I feel like someone has tried to throttle me. How long should I leave it before going back to the doctors?
