How Long Will It Take For Knee Contusion With Patellar Effusion To Heal?

hi I tripped over a hole in the ground while playing football Saturday and popped my knee. I waited a few hours before going to er, my knee hurt badly and was swollen. After an xray that was ok, I was told I have a knee contusion with patellar effusion. my pain is better, but still hurts to bend knee. How long until it s reaolved?
