How Long Will The Birth Control Be Effective?

I took plan B on April 24th because the condom broke then I got what I thought to be my period on the 1st so I started my birth control that day. I had my period from the 1st till the 4th.I had unprotected sex yesterday. Is the birth control effective or what should I do?
