How Long Will Womb Ache With Bleeding Due To Mirena Insertion Last?

A few days a go i had a mirena coil fitted, is it usual to have an aching feeling in my womb and for how long on average will this last, I did bleed for a day and a half but that has pretty much stopped. Im thinking that because it was fitted on day 13 I should still use contraception this month , is that correct?
