How Safe Is Cauterization Of Labia For Blisters Caused Due To Radiation?

I have Lymphedema in my groin, specifically the outer labias. Due to radiation damage the lymph fluid causes blistering of the skin on the outer labias which is extremely painful. My wound care doctor is shaving off the blisters and applying silver nitrate to the area. It is extremely painful. Do you think this will cauterize the area and stop the blistering? This is our second application to the same area.
