How Safe Is Taking Clarithromycin For Sinus Infection?

I have taken clarithromycin before for sinus infections ...starting taking it last night for what may appear as sinus infection and later that night started with severe left breastbone pain that is worse when lying down but is constantly there ..this morning pain still there what is causing the pain ..never had that happen before
