How Safe Is Taking Hydroxyzine For Afib?

I was dx with afib 7/2012, was admitted to hospital and prescribed metropolo and hydroxyzine, changed cardiologists, he took me off the hydo drug said it was an anihistamine and kept me on the other, I stopped taking the hydro drug like he recommended on Thursday 1/8/15 after the appt. I did not take it that night, Sunday I had a 4 hr. afib episode, and since then the episode subsided but my bp is 164/90 today, was 150/90 last Friday and I'm am sooo tired and kind of disoriented, just not myself..Should I have weaned myself off the hydro med? I can't get hold of him and I'm worried, work wants to send me home to rest but I work in a hospital I want to stay here in case somsehting happens and I don't want to go to the ED..what are your thoughts on that medication and stopping it so suddenly could that have done it?
