How Safe Is Taking Percocet Over Dilaudid To Overcome Withdrawal Symptoms?

i am trying to get off dilaudid... it was prescribed.. and i have been taking it as directed but i started getting suicidal thoughts as i was rapidly reducing the dose...so i went slower and more even... but the suicidal shit got worse!! so now i am switching to percocet to try and ease the withdrawal... no dilaudid at all...is this advisable?
