How Safe Is Travel To High Altitudes With An Infected Pinhole Perforation?

Yes, I’m concerned and confused. About 6 weeks ago I had debris in my ear so my doctor flushed it out. It felt like there was still something in my ear but he said it was fluid behind my eardrum. Told me to take Claritin & use earwax removal. But my ear got worse, had a lot of pressure but no pain. So went back to my doctor a week later and saw the PA, she said I had an inner ear infection & prescribed Augmentin (which I did not take at this time) & suggested I see an ENT. Saw the ENT two weeks later & he said I had an outer ear infection and a small polyp & prescribed Ciprodex drops. Three days later I broke out in a rash on my body (thought it was an allergy reaction to the Ciprodex) so he prescribed Ofloxacin drops. Then a week later I was in a lot of pain in the back of my head and a little in my ear (up to this point I had no pain). Then my ear started to drain a little. It started out as a lemon aid color and darken to an egg yolk color with much flow. Saw the ENT the next week & he said I had a ruptured eardrum & the polyp was shrinking and to continue the ear drops. Said the body rash was not an allergy reaction to the drops and suggested I see my regular doctor. The pain worsened on the back of my head (behind my ear) and a little more in my ear and the drainage was worse with a tinge of blood but only at night while I slept (I could hear it drip like a faucet). The body rash cleared up on it’s own. Not knowing what to do, I started the Augmentin. I started to feel better and the pain let up and the drainage has almost stopped. Saw the ENT a couple of days ago and he ordered a CAT scan. He mentioned surgery but I’m not sure for what. I think he was referring to my eardrum, but he said it was a small hole. Plus he mentioned I still had a pinhole perforation. Fifteen years ago I had a fungus infection that caused a pinhole perforation but I thought it had closed. So that may explain why my previous ENT never flushed my ear. I’m seeing the ENT again next week and if I don’t get any answers I’m going to see another ENT. Anyway my question is, is it okay to go over a mountain pass of 9500 feet? We live at 8000. The ENT said it would be okay, but everything I read on the net suggests I shouldn’t. Oh yeah my hearing is impaired. I haven’t heard normally for 6 weeks.
