How Should An Auricle Ear Injury With Redness And Swelling Be Treated?

The auricle of my right ear was injured, not broken or torn. The other day it got red and swollen and I went to Urgent Care. The doctor said that he thought it would go back to normal and advised I take Ibuprofen. He also prescribed a pain killer. Looking online for answers can be a little scary. Is it possible my ear will be normal again? The swelling is down but it still looks different than the other ear. There does not appear to be a hematoma. How can I tell?
