How Should Moderate Ear Pain With Irritation Be Treated?

can there be ear pain due to hyper tension without external ear invovement. Treated for middle ear infection with cefodox-clavulinate. no improvement after 5 days. Pain is moderate irritating one that improves upon pranayam. Please explain...?
