How Should Penis Burning Sensations Be Treated?

hi, I have a burning sensation on my penis. This is either early in morning and during day time and the frequency is 10 times in a month or so. I was advised by one general practitioner to go for circumcising. I am getting married in months and am 37 years old. Pls advice.
