How To Avoid Recurrence Of Small Bowel Obstruction?

I just had surgery for a small bowel obstruction due to adhesions from a previous surgery nearly six years ago. Is there anything I can do to reduce the chances of a recurrence and can you tell me what percentage of people having this procedure need to have it again. Thanks!
