How To Check If Hymen Is Intact Or Broken?

hi, I m 22 curious to know if my hymen is broken. I ve always used super tampons and they are pretty big. could I have broken it with the tampon and not noticed at the time because I new to the whole tampon phase or does the hymen not break with tampons? also I m not sure where the hymen is located. if I can insert something about 4-5 inches what does that mean?
