How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Hi, I am 39 yrs old, period is regular every 26 days. My last regular period was March 1st and ended March 5th, I had light brownish red spotting on March 13 14 and 15th (that is not typical for me) but my period was not due until the 26th. It is now April 5th and still nothing. I am bloated,hungry,tired and my breast are very sore. I took a pregnancy test today and it said negative. Was that light spotting my period? and could this be early menopause or still possible pregnant?
