How To Control Diabetes Type 2?

my friend is a type 2 diabetic her sugar was 144 and some eye blurry. she take a pill for diabetics . what does she need to done now to control that. she has only been a type 2 diabetic just over a year. she says she is still learning about diabetics. I wanted to know what can I do to help her
