How To Cure Discomfort In Abdomen Due To Hip Replacement Surgery?

Hello doctor.My mother who is 75 underwent a hip replacement in Aug 2013 and had plenty of complications after that The implant dislocated a week after survey and she had to have complete bed rest for 10 weeks.She had low proteins and lost a lot of weight Now she is mobile and has been advised a high protein diet.She is suffering from frequent stomach upsets,cramps and severe abdo discomfort.She is non diabetic and non HT.

What can she take/do to improve her GI condition and her general health.
