How To Cure Pain And Burning Sensation At The Finger Tips?

I have burning in my fingertips which is occasional but was very painful after cutting up tomatoes for sauce, so painful that I needed to put a cold pack on my fingers for two hours. they are still slightly burning today. I do have some sort of dermatitis which comes and goes and is reddish, dry patches on my fingers and palms, but this has not been worse lately. My fingers and hands work well otherwise, although there is arthritis
