How To Cure Pain And Swelling On Wrist After Undergoing Carpel Tunnel Surgery?

After having carpal tunnel surgery in late September I have continued having pain along the thumb side of the wrist, moving upwards to the elbow. The vein stays swollen to twice its normal size as well. Using anti-inflammatory cream for 2 weeks on it. Additional suggestions?
