How To Cure Red Itchy Patches On The Chest While Using Retinol?

Hi i have been using Rentinol. Its working great except on recently on my chest its a big red patches and itches. Was it a reaction to me being in the sun after just recently starting retinol? Or what caused it? And what can i do to make it better and heal??
